Insurance Services for Texans
At Texas Power Insurance Agency, we know that choosing the right healthcare coverage can feel overwhelming, especially with so many Medicare and health insurance options available. That’s why our team is dedicated to simplifying the process for Texans across Katy, Humble, Montgomery, and the greater Houston area.
Medicare Services
Original Medicare (Parts A & B)
Covers hospital stays, doctor visits, preventive care, and outpatient services. We’ll help you understand what’s included, what’s not, and how to supplement your coverage.
Insurance isn’t a one-time decision. From plan changes and claims to questions about benefits, our team provides support all year long.
Medicare Advantage
(Part C)
All-in-one plans from private insurers that combine Parts A & B, often with extras like:
Dental & Vision
Hearing
Fitness memberships
Over-the-Counter allowances
Transportation benefits
We compare options to match your doctors, prescriptions, and budget.
Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap)
Helps cover deductibles, copays, and coinsurance not paid by Original Medicare. Popular options like Plan G or Plan N give seniors predictable costs and peace of mind. Medigap also lets you see any provider nationwide that accepts Medicare. This flexibility makes it a strong choice for those who travel frequently or want broader access to doctors and specialists. By reducing out-of-pocket surprises, Medigap ensures your healthcare remains both reliable and affordable.
Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)
Stand-alone coverage that helps pay for medications. We analyze your prescriptions, preferred pharmacies, and formulary tiers to ensure you get the most affordable plan.
Individual & Family Health Insurance (Under 65)
Not eligible for Medicare yet? We compare private health insurance options for individuals and families, balancing premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs to fit your household’s needs and budget.
Dental & Vision Coverage
Standalone dental and vision plans can protect your overall health and reduce out-of-pocket expenses. Many Medicare Advantage plans also include these benefits — we’ll show you the best fit.
Whether you are turning 65 and enrolling in Medicare for the first time, reviewing Medicare Advantage or Medigap options, exploring family and individual health insurance, or comparing stand-alone prescription drug plans, we provide clear, personalized guidance every step of the way. Our mission is to make sure you understand your choices, avoid unnecessary costs, and feel confident knowing your coverage is the right fit for your needs and budget.
Medicare provides a 7-month Initial Enrollment Period around your 65th birthday. This window begins three months before you turn 65, includes the month of your 65th birthday, and extends three months after. Enrolling during this period ensures you avoid late penalties and gain timely access to your Medicare benefits, whether you’re choosing Original Medicare or a Medicare Advantage plan.
Medicare is divided into four main parts that work together to provide comprehensive coverage. Part A (Hospital Insurance) helps cover inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, hospice, and some home health care. Part B (Medical Insurance) covers doctor visits, outpatient services, preventive care, durable medical equipment, and more.
Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) are offered by private insurance companies and combine Parts A and B, usually with extra benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, fitness, and often prescription drug coverage. Finally, Part D (Prescription Drug Plans) helps pay for medications and protects against unexpected high prescription costs. Together, these parts give seniors and qualifying Texans the flexibility to choose coverage that fits their healthcare needs and budget.
Medicare starts with two main paths: Original Medicare (Part A & Part B): Hospital and medical insurance. You can add: Part D for prescription drug coverage and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) for extra cost protection. Medicare Advantage (Part C): Combines Part A and Part B, and usually includes drug coverage (Part D). If not, you may add a Part D plan. Medigap policies cannot be used with Advantage plans.
Yes—Medicare runs on deadlines. Your Initial Enrollment Period is a 7-month window around your 65th birthday (3 months before, your birth month, and 3 months after). Each fall, the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15–Dec 7) lets you change Medicare Advantage and Part D plans for coverage starting Jan 1.
If you’re already on an Advantage plan, the Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1–Mar 31) allows one switch to another Advantage plan or a return to Original Medicare. For Medigap, your best time to buy is the 6 months after your Part B starts (typically no health underwriting). Qualifying life events (moving, losing coverage, etc.) can trigger Special Enrollment Periods.
